About Spices
Exactly when humans started to season their food is something of a mystery, humans have used Spices for a very long time. The first written evidence of spices use was found in Mesopotamia. Three clay tablets from around 1750 BC were found in Spain with more than 30 recipes called Yale Culinary Tablets.
The spice trade developed throughout the Indian subcontinent by at earliest 2000 BCE with Cinnamon and Black Pepper, and in East Asia with herbs and pepper. The indigenous spices to India such as Cardamom and Turmeric were cultivated as early as the 8th century BC in the Gardens of Babylon.
Spices are distinguished from herbs, which are the leaves, flowers, or stems of plants used for flavouring, colouring or garnishing the food. Spices and herbs such as black pepper, cinnamon, turmeric, and cardamom have been used by Indians for thousands of years for both culinary and health purposes.
All the Agronics Spices are organically or naturally cultivated, harvested, processed and grinded by our farmers and their family members only.
